Stephen Appiah has received yet another massive endorsement from leading Ghanaian clergyman Samuel Korankye Ankrah ahead of his testimonial match on June 27.
The powerful man of God has lauded the former Juventus midfielder for his passion and dedication during his time with the Black Stars.
Appiah who announced his retirement from football earlier this year will be hosting an array of world football stars in a testimonial match being organized in his honour by Primeval Media.
The 34-year-old has been paying courtesy calls on influential personalities to officially invite them to his fund-raising dinner and his testimonial match on June 26 and 27 at the State Banquet Hall and the Accra Sports Stadium respectively.
The former Black Stars captain called on Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, the Apostle General of the Royal House Chapel International Church to officially invite him to the events.
“I want to thank you for welcoming us to your beautiful residence and for all the support you have been giving me,” Appiah said.
“You have been my spiritual father all this while and therefore it is only proper for me to come and officially invite you to be with me during the fund raising dinner and testimonial game.
“We have come here to invite you and also seek your blessings for these events.”
Rev. Korankye Ankrah in accepting the invitation, lavished praises on Appiah as he recalled his exemplary and selfless dedication during his days with the national team.
“You gave almost 20 years of youthful life to the national team and made sure every Ghanaian benefit from the immense gift that God gave you,” he said.
“I was able to find out your secret and they were humility, dedication, focus.
“When you set your mind to do something, you made sure you achieved your aims passionately.
“This nation must use this opportunity to make a statement to honour such a great personality and I can assure you that myself and my colleagues in the clergy are organizing ourselves for the events.”
