Remo Stars made it three away wins to maintain top spot on the league standings after getting a rare win away from home and fellow title race opponent, Rivers United's loss on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Sky Blue Stars came from behind to edge Akwa United 1-2 at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium, maintaining top spot with 5 points lead.

Uche Sabastine scored on his debut to put the Promise Keepers in front after 6 minutes of play.

However, the visitors were back in the game in the 74th minute after Samuel Anakwe with a brilliant individual effort leveled the score before Adedayo Olamilekan scored the winner 11 minutes later.

At the Dan Ayam Stadium, Heartland FC of Owerri piped Lobi Stars 1-0 courtesy of a John Bassey 57th-minute goal.

Emmanuel Ihezuo scored late to give Plateau United the win after Ndifreke Effiong's 87th-minute goal for Rivers United cancelled Olawale Doyeni's 21st opener at the New Jos Stadium, Zaria Road.
