Osei Banahene will be out for three weeks with knee injury

Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Osei Banahane has been told he will be out for only three weeks after sustaining a knee injury.

The 26-year-old was feared to have suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury while in action for Ismaily in their 3-0 defeat to ENPPI last Saturday.

Banahene was feared to be out for months with the suspected injury.

But the Ghanaian striker has been relieved of this fear after doctors told him he will be out for just three weeks after thorough medical examination on Tuesday.

“The doctors told me I will be out for three weeks,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“It is good news because many thought I had suffered a serious injury which would have kept me away for a longer period.”

Banahene has been in good scoring form since joining Ismaily in January as the direct replacement for compatriot John Antwi who was sold to Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab.
