Real Betis defender Jean Emmanuel N’Goran attracts Barcelona attention

At 19, Jean Emmanuel N’Goran is emerging as one of Real Betis’ most promising young defenders, with Barcelona among the clubs monitoring his progress.

The Ivory Coast centre-back has also attracted interest from Rayo Vallecano and several Premier League clubs, as his performances continue to raise his profile beyond Seville.

Barcelona keep watch on Betis prospect

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are following N’Goran closely. Scouts from the Catalan club were in Badajoz last Sunday to watch the defender in action.

Barcelona also tried to sign him for their reserve side in August, but the move was not completed. Their continued presence underlines the interest in a player whose development has been monitored by the club for several months.

N’Goran is now set for another important step in his progress. During the current break, he is due to train with the Real Betis first team, giving him the opportunity to work at a higher level and move closer to senior football.

The defender joined the Andalusian club in January 2025 from Ghanaian academy Young African Promises. He quickly established himself as one of the leading young prospects within Real Betis’ academy in Seville.

Contract extended until 2030

Real Betis moved to protect their investment in March by extending N’Goran’s contract until 2030. The agreement gives the club control over the defender’s future at a time when interest from clubs across Europe is increasing.

With Barcelona, Rayo Vallecano and several Premier League teams watching his development, N’Goran’s reputation is continuing to grow. His upcoming training sessions with the first team will provide another opportunity to demonstrate the potential he has shown since arriving in Spain.

Real Betis will soon play their eighth-round La Liga fixture against Osasuna. The odds listed by 1xbet put a Real Betis victory at 1.73, a draw at 4.00 and an Osasuna win at 4.50.
