Goalkeeper Razak Brimah says he’s ‘forgotten’ the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations heartbreak and focused on helping Spanish side Mirandes to return to winning ways.

Brimah, 27, returned to the starting lineup for the first time in one and half month in their 1-1 stalemate against Tenerife over the weekend.

Brimah missed the spot kick which handed Ivory Coast their first trophy in 23 years but the Ghanaian international says he’s overcome the heartbreak and focused on his club career.

“I have forgotten about that and focused on Mirandes,” he told the Spanish media

"This is football and there are victories and defeats," he acknowledged, as he said he wants to focus now on Mirandes which for Brimah is even "more important" than his national team at the moment.

"I really wanted to play" after "month and a half" away from the team.

“The result is not good enough because we wanted to win and hopefully we can change that against Sporting Gijon.”

Mirandes are without a win in their last five games and desperately need to turn the tables around.
