Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has described Osinachi Ohale as “a true legend” after the veteran defender announced her retirement from international football.
Ajibade thanked Ohale for her contribution to Nigeria and praised the commitment she showed throughout her 16-year career with the Super Falcons.
“Thank you, Osi @OhaleOsinachi, for everything you gave to Nigeria. You defended this badge with your whole heart, every single time,” Ajibade wrote on X.
“I’m so proud of you. The whole Super Falcons family is proud of you. You are a true legend.
“Enjoy this next chapter. You’ve earned it, ma’am.”
Ohale, 34, won five Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) titles during her time with Nigeria and represented the country at four FIFA Women’s World Cups.
She finished her international career with 84 caps for the Super Falcons.
Her retirement brings an end to a 16-year spell representing Nigeria, during which she established herself as one of the country’s most experienced defenders.
