Rangers release newly acquired Clinton Jephta

In a surprising turn of events, 19-year-old attacker Clinton Jephta's signing with reigning league champions Rangers has been revoked due to a previous agreement with another club, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Jephta, a highly sought-after talent, had been announced as Rangers' latest signing after a stellar season with Niger Tornadoes. He impressed last year in the NPFL, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. His performances caught the eye of numerous top clubs in the league.

However, shortly after Rangers' announcement, it came to light that Enyimba International, another top club, already had a valid agreement with Jephta. Reports indicate that Enyimba had already signed and registered the FC One Rocket product on the Transfer Matching System (TMS).

To avoid a dispute, both Rangers and Enyimba met to address the situation. Rangers, recognizing Enyimba's prior claim, decided to rescind their agreement with Jephta, effectively freeing him to join the Aba-based side.

This turn of events means Jephta will now be lining up for Enyimba, the two-time Champions League winners, for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
