Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Rangers, are in pole position to sign Heartland forward Onyekachi Okafor, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports,
Rangers have initiated talks with Okafor, who impressed with five goals for Heartland last season in the NPFL.
The 30-year-old forward is expected to compete with veteran striker Godwin Obaje for a starting spot.
If signed, Okafor's addition would strengthen Rangers' attack and intensify the competition for places in the team.
However, Rangers face competition from former NPFL champions Enyimba, who have also expressed interest in Okafor.
