Former England footballer Raheem Sterling was filmed holding an inflated white balloon inside his £270,000 Lamborghini shortly before it struck a roadside barrier, a court has heard.
The footage, recorded by a passing motorist’s rear-facing dashcam, shows the balloon on the driver’s side of the vehicle as Sterling’s SUV travelled along the M3.
Sterling pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and possession of nitrous oxide at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. Nitrous oxide is commonly known as laughing gas.
Earlier footage published by The Sun showed Sterling’s vehicle weaving across the three-lane motorway.
The motorist who captured the latest video said she recognised Sterling that morning and noticed what she described as a suspicious balloon in his hand.
