PSG step up interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Ibrahim Maza

Paris Saint-Germain are intensifying their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Ibrahim Maza ahead of the next winter transfer window.

The Algerian youngster is already on the shortlist of the Paris club’s recruitment team and is also being considered as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Maza’s representatives are closely monitoring the situation, with the prospect of the transfer battle becoming more active when the January window opens.

Leverkusen, however, remain calm about the growing interest. The German club are fully aware of Maza’s potential and are determined to secure his long-term future at the BayArena.

Talks are under way over a contract extension that would keep Maza at the club beyond 2030. The proposed new agreement would also include a significant salary increase, in an effort to deter interest from clubs across Europe.

Maza is regarded by Leverkusen as a key part of their sporting plans for the coming years, while his reputation in the transfer market continues to grow.

The player’s immediate future could therefore be shaped by two competing priorities: a major bid from Paris Saint-Germain during the winter window and Leverkusen’s firm intention to retain one of their most promising young players.
