Rivers Angels have emerged champions of the 2024 President Federation Cup after edging Naija Ratels in Lagos on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

A late first half goal Okpe Blessing was all the Jewel of Rivers needed to win their ninth FA Cup title at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan.

Despite Rivers Angels enjoyed a fair share of possession, it was the Abuja side that came close to scoring on 25 minute after Goalkeeper Agatha Thompson saved Joy Igbokwe.

However, it was the Porthacourt side that broke the deadlock through a penalty after defender Adebayo Jumai handled the ball in her box which Okpe converted at the dead of halftime.

Olamide Adugbe Kick-started the second half by almost doubling the lead, but her effort was punched away by goalkeeper Faith Omilani.

The Jewels continued to take control of proceedings as Okpe came close to scoring a brace but she was denied by Omilani on 80 minute.

Chiamaka Okwuchukwu also came close but Omilani made sure the score remained 1-0 as the Angels clinch the FA Cup title after six years.
