West Ham’s midfielder, Declan Rice, often enough linked to some top England clubs lately. One of them is Manchester United.

Last season was Rice’s best moment with West Ham. With the record of 35 appearances in all competitions, he successfully makes Gareth Southgate sure to take him along in England Squad in Euro 2020.

Rice’s good and consistent performance attract the attention of top England Clubs, including the Red Devil. The club managed by Ole Solskjaer believed that they need someone like Declan Rice to replace Nemanja Matic.

As we all know, Matic’s age is not young anymore. His contract in Old Trafford will be ended in upcoming 2023 and before he goes, Manchester United needs to find Matic’s replacement first.

A lot of people believed that Rice could be the successor of Matic in Manchester United’s midfield. As well as ex Liverpool player, Danny Murphy. According to him, this year is not the right moment for him to go to Old Trafford.

“He wants to play in the highest level, and the reality is West Ham is not going to compete and snatch the highest honor,” Murphy said to talkSPORT.

“He is going to transfer, it is just about when and where to. I’m gonna say, if the contract is still three years left, it is better for him not to sign (the new contract). Next summer, the contract is only two years left and West Ham is in a critical situation, so he can move.”

Currently, West Ham claimed that they will never sell Declan Rice below a hundred-million-pound. A quite big amount for Manchester United since they have bought Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

That is why the wisest action for the Red Devils is to keep their desire to have Declan Rice in their team.  At least until the next summer’s transfer market is open.

“Does MU needs a midfielder with the quality of Rice? Yes. Will they pay a hundred-million-pound in the next summer after Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane? Yes, probably they will do.” Murphy concluded.
