From Liga Financial, Manchester United forward Daniel James has reportedly emerged as a shock transfer target for Serie A outfits, Atalanta BC. The 23-year-old attacker has been a regular since arriving at Old Trafford from Swansea City earlier in 2019, playing 72 games over the last two campaigns.

The Wales international only featured on 15 occasions in the English top-tier last season, though, and the arrival of Jadon Sancho has seemingly pushed the forward further down the pecking order.

Southampton and Leeds United are among the teams to have already been credited with an interest in 23-year-old forward during this summer’s transfer window.

However, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Serie A outfits, Atalanta are also huge fans of the Welshman and could launch a bid for his signature before the deadline passes.

James, who featured on four occasions for his national team at this summer’s European Championship, still has three years left to run on his deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

The forward has found back of the net six times and provided seven assists in 48 Premier League games, meanwhile, since making the step up from the second tier.
