According to the Manchester Evening News, Solskjaer views Lingard as a crucial player who will be retained for the remainder of the season.

During the early part of last season, the attacker struggled to get playing time. Around the turn of the year, he was loaned out to West Ham United. Lingard outperformed expectations during his stint with the Hammers, scoring nine goals and assisting six times in 16 appearances.

Lingard isn't guaranteed regular playing time, but Solskjaer feels he'd be a valuable rotation player. His contract with the Red Devils has less than 11 months left on it. If he remains, there's a high possibility he'll sign a new contract.
