With an official statement, Manchester City informs that they have suspended Benjamin Mendy, a French defender, as he is under investigation by the police. The Manchester club explains that it will not release any further information until the process is complete.
As reported by many British sources, including PA, the defender is allegedly accused of four counts of rape and sexual assault on three girls over the age of 16, which took place between October 2020 and August 2021.
