Manchester United player Marcus Rashford was chosen this year's recipient of the Integrity and Impact Award at the 2021 Sport Industry Awards on Wednesday, according to the club's official website.
The Red Devils' star made headlines for his efforts to eliminate child poverty, and he has been an ardent supporter of the subject since then. Rashford's efforts not only earned him considerable popular sympathy, but they also led to changes in UK government policy addressing free school lunches.
He was unable to attend the ceremony in London, but submitted a video in which he expressed his gratitude for being nominated for the prize.
“I know how fortunate I am, so I’m just doing what I can to help young people in the same situation I was in growing up.”
