Manchester United have held positive talks with the representatives of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
According to Sky Sports, United were given permission to speak to Varane’s camp; nothing has been agreed, but personal terms are not expected to be a problem.
United have yet to speak to Real Madrid directly – but are expected to once they have an agreement with Varane.
United remain cautious as they are wary of being used to get Varane a new contract at Real.
Varane’s current deal is up next summer and United are aware they can sign him on a pre-contract in January.
