To fend off interest from the Premier League's 'big six,' Leeds is willing to give Kalvin Phillips a new deal that will make him the club's highest-paid player.

Phillips has played an important role in Leeds' remarkable comeback to the Premier League and has established himself as an England international over the last year, appearing in the final of Euro 2020 with the Three Lions.

According to TeamTalk, Leeds are set to offer the academy graduate a better contract, pushing him beyond Rodrigo, Raphinha, and Patrick Bamford as the club's highest-paid player.

Phillips signed a new five-year contract in September 2019, but it was signed before his ascension to become a key component in Gareth Southgate's England ambitions, and the club wants to reflect that.

Phillips is not believed to have requested fresh terms, but both the club and the player are aware of domestic competitors' interest.
