Birmingham City manager Lee Bowyer has hailed the work-rate of on-loan winger Tahith Chong, insisting that the youngster is a "credit" to Manchester United.

The Dutchman continued his fine start to life in the Midlands on Friday evening, helping the Blues beat Wayne Rooney's Derby County 2-0 to secure their first home victory of the season.

Although he didn't get himself on the scoresheet, the United starlet once again produced a magnificent performance that resulted in him scooping the Man of the Match award.

Chong presence on the pitch was there for everyone to see; he was a constant menace with the ball at his feet and frequently took a few whacks from the Derby players who struggled to deal with his talents.

Bowyer told Birmingham Live : "Everyone will talk about him in possession and the way he glides past people is beautiful to watch. But I look at the other side and he works so hard for the team. To come from Manchester United and to have the attitude he has, and work the way he works, he is a credit to their football club."
