Chelsea now needs to face the truth that they need to pay more to sign Jules Kounde. Near the end of the summer window, the release clause of Sevilla' star will be broken.

The Champions League winner already offloads many players during this Premier League season. As you can see, Danny Drinkwater, Ross Barkley, and Tiemoue Bakayoko already joined three different clubs.

Thomas Tuchel's side also sent Kurt Zouma to the rival club, West Ham for around €29 million. It's quite reasonable, they need another player to enhance the back line.

The great performance of Jules Kounde attracted the Blues who already gave an opening bid around €50 million. Unfortunately, Sevilla just rejected it because it was less than the LaLiga club expected.

According to Sport, Chelsea will face the consequences since they take too much time for negotiation. The cost of the 22-year-old will rise into €80 million on deadline day.

There is a specific clause in Kounde's contract which can make Sevilla set up a much higher price for the star. This also means that they don't want to give up Jules Kounde easily.

Chelsea seems to have abandoned their chance to sign Jules Kounde this season. Besides, the Premier League giant already spent a lot to buy Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
