Karina LeBlanc, the Operational Manager of Portland Thorns, sheds light on the decision behind acquiring Nigerian Super Falcons star Nicole Payne, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The American club confirmed Payne's signing on loan from French Feminine side PSG, with LeBlanc highlighting Payne's physical attributes as a key factor in their decision.
"Nicole is an exciting addition to our roster," LeBlanc stated, emphasizing Payne's defensive capabilities and her ability to contribute offensively.
She added, "This coupled with her physical capabilities to do so, make her a very exciting asset for us."
The 23-year-old has made just four appearances for PSG this season.
Payne has made seven appearances for Nigeria.
