Plots To Postpone NNL’s Exposed By Katsina United

Chairman of the Nigeria National League, (NNL), side, Katsina United, Aminu Balele Kurfi, has raised the alarm over alleged plots by some NNL stakeholders to frustrate the planned resumption of the league this weekend.

Nigeria National League (NNL) group A table-toppers, Katsina United, has kicked against alleged plots by some club chairmen and managers to frustrate the planned resumption of the second stanza of the league.

Kurfi who also doubles as the club chairmen and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Youths and Sports Development Matters to the Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, stated this while chatting with newsmen in Abuja. He alleged that some club chairmen and managers have planned to meet in Abuja to ask the organisers of Nigeria’s second-tier football league to postpone this weekend’s planned resumption over paucity of funds.

He said the management of Katsina United would demand that the organisers declare the top clubs of the various groups at the completion of the first-round as winners of the groups of the NNL if they decide to suspend the league.

“We are not part of the call for the postponement of the resumption of the second round of the league. Why would we not conclude the league when we are already running late? Those who are calling for the postponement of the league are mainly the bottom-placed clubs who have no stake in the quest for promotion. No club is better placed now in terms of finance, because we all know the situation in the states presently.
