President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Amaju Pininck, has assured that the federation will leave no stone unturned to ensure prompt payment of bonuses and allowances of the Super Falcons.

He made the promise Tuesday when he declared open the FIFA female leadership development training organised by NFF in Abuja. Amaju who was not happy with the way national teams are being owed by the federation said no effort would be spared to ensure the payment of bonuses, and allowances as at when due.

“It’s not in the federation’s habit to be owing, it is just that the economic situation in the country is not being fair to everybody.

“We have made application to the company that is ready to fund the team; we are working seriously. We will not shortchange anyone one kobo, we have settled the U-17 team all their allowances, we are not owing them kobo,” Pinnick said.

Falcons threatened last week to boycott the imminent African Women’s Nations Cup in Cameroun over unpaid qualification games’ bonuses. Nigeria is expected to face tough competition from Ghana, Mali and Kenya in Group B of the AWCON later this month.

Pininck expressed confidence in Coach Florence Omagbemi led Super Falcons team. “Falcons have been rated as one of the best teams in the world, we need to support them, and by the grace of God all hands will be on deck to give them all the support they need.”

The NFF president ,however, charged the women football players to see a role model in the incumbent Head Coach of the Falcons, Omagbemi, who captained the Falcons for several years and won many laurels, and is today a member of the FIFA Technical Study Group.
