PFAG to commission first Light Center facility in Ghana - ex Arsenal star Kanu to be present

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) will be commissioning its first Light Center Facility in Ghana on Friday.

The commissioning forms part of the PFAG’s work as the implementing partner for the Football for Water project – a water, sanitation and hygiene program sponsored by the Netherlands.

With the Dutch FA and Philips as the other partners, the PFAG will be commissioning an installed solar light facility at the Osu Presbyterian Salem Park in Accra.

This will be the first in a series of similar commissioning to be done for Public Basic Schools in Ghana.

The PFAG, made up of current and former Ghanaian professional football players including the likes of Stephen Appiah, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Anthony Baffoe and Laryea Kingston will be joined by ex Nigeria internationals Nwankwo Kanu and Daniel Amokachi for the commissioning on Friday.

Aaron Winter and Tarik Qulida form the Netherlands will also be present at the function which will certainly a landmark feature in the six-year existence of the PFAG which is an affiliate body of FIFPro – an organization that seeks the interest of professional football players (both active and retired).

The association also seeks to build solidarity amongst its members while making a case for improved working conditions especially in developing countries such as Ghana.
