BORN in the Republic of Uzbekistan - formerly a part of the Soviet Union - new Bristol City man Peter Odemwingie's first move in the game was in 2002 when he signed for Bendel Insurance in the Nigerian Premier League.

His first taste of European football was with Belgian side La Louvière, where he spent a total of three seasons, before a switch to Ligue One with French side Lille in 2004.                                           The 34-year-old, after netting 25 goals for Lille, made a £10 million transfer Lokomotiv Moscow in July 2007. Twenty-three goals later and a dream move to Premier League side West Brom was secured and Odemwingie went on to net 31 times for the Baggies from 2010 to 2013.

Another injury-hit 2014/15 season saw him make eight showings as Stoke finished 9th in the top flight.

Since then he has fallen massively out of favour and Mark Hughes has brought in the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Bojan Krki?, Ibrahim Afellay and Mame Biram Diouf.

He has made eight showings this season and has not scored a goal since Nigeria beat Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2014 World Cup. Odemwingie has 63 caps for the African nation and once captained the side.

He could make his debut when the Robins play Fulham at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
