Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross has been named the Premier League’s best player for September.
The 35-year-old becomes the sixth-oldest footballer to win the award, according to the Premier League. Only five players achieved the honour at an older age: Paul Scholes, Gianfranco Zola, Cristiano Ronaldo, Teddy Sheringham and Stuart Pearce.
Gross played in all three of Brighton’s Premier League matches during September, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
Brighton have taken 10 points from their opening five league matches and are third in the Premier League table.
