Paris FC injury concern over Samir Chergui after Lorient defeat

Published on: 13 October 2026

Samir Chergui is facing a spell on the sidelines after being forced off during Paris FC’s Ligue 1 match against FC Lorient this weekend.

The 27-year-old defender started in the centre of Paris FC’s defence but had to request a substitution in the 65th minute after feeling a muscular problem. The club’s medical staff opted to take no risks and replaced him immediately to prevent the injury from worsening.

Chergui had only just returned from Algeria duty, where he had been rested for the team’s final two matches. He had appeared to be performing comfortably before the discomfort emerged and brought his afternoon to an early end.

Paris FC conceded a few minutes after Chergui’s departure, allowing Lorient to move ahead. The hosts were unable to find an equaliser before the final whistle.

The Algerian defender’s condition will now be assessed through further examinations, which are expected to provide a clearer diagnosis and determine whether he will need a period of rest.

Chergui has become an important member of the Paris FC squad this season, making the potential injury a concern for the club.
