The Nigerian Football Federation has announced the official squad numbers for the Super Falcons' 18-player roster for the 2024 Olympic Games, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
While star forward, Asisat Oshoala wear the number 8 shirt and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie will don the number 16 jersey, Chukwunonye Macleans, surprisingly, will wear the number 9 shirt
Christy Ucheibe, who plays for Benfica in Portugal, has been handed the prestigious number 10 shirt.
Nicole Payne will take over the number 4 jersey previously worn by the injured Ashleigh Plumptre. Toni Payne, Nicole's elder sister, will retain her number 7 shirt.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade will stick with the number 15 shirt, while other squad members have also been assigned their numbers: Osinachi Ohale (3), Tosin Demehin (14), Jennifer Echegini (11), and Uchenna Kanu (12).
Randy Waldrum’s side will begin their Olympic campaign against Brazil on Thursday at the Stade Bordeaux.
