Oumar Konate will continue his development in France after joining Stade Lavallois on loan from AS Monaco.
The 19-year-old Ivory Coast forward has temporarily left the Principality club, which confirmed the move, and will now compete in Ligue 2 as he looks to gain senior experience and progress towards professional football.
Konate joined the AS Monaco academy in the summer of 2025 and remains under contract with the club until June 2030. His loan to Laval is intended to provide him with regular exposure to the demands of a highly competitive division.
Before making the move, Konate featured for Monaco’s Groupe Elite and gained experience in several European youth competitions. He played in both the Premier League International Cup and the Youth League, appearing in victories against Bodø/Glimt, Pafos and Galatasaray.
Those performances helped draw attention to his potential. A few months ago, he was reportedly being monitored by Neom SC, according to exclusive sources cited by Africafoot.
Konate was also included in AS Monaco’s first-team squad during the club’s summer preparation. He will now aim to make the most of his opportunity with Stade Lavallois and build on the promise he has shown at youth level.
His market value is estimated at 500,000 euros by Transfermarkt.
The move represents the latest stage in the young striker’s development, with Laval offering him the chance to experience regular competition in Ligue 2 while remaining tied to AS Monaco for the long term.
