Otto Addo set to lead Ghana against Nigeria

Published on: 13 March 2024

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is poised to announce Otto Addo's return as the manager of the Black Stars on Friday ahead of the friendly against Nigeria in two weeks, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Numerous reports circulating in the Ghanaian media outlets indicate that the GFA has awarded the German-based coach a long-term contract to spearhead Ghana's ambitious football project.

The managerial vacancy arose subsequent to the conclusion of Chris Hughton’s underwhelming tenure as Ghana's coach on January 23, 2024, with the GFA promptly announcing his dismissal alongside the dissolution of his technical team.

Should Otto Addo be reinstated, his inaugural task, if appointed, will entail matches against Uganda and Nigeria in an international friendly scheduled to take place in Morocco in March 2024.

Just as the Black stars, the Super Eagles is also without a manager since Jose Peseiro left the position after taking the team to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
