Ossy Martins hands Amokachi first win as Kwara United hold Rangers

Lobi Stars earned a win after four matches against Bayelsa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League match day 9 fixture on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

2 goals from striker Ossy Martins were enough for Coach Daniel Amokachi to get his first win since he took over as Technical Adviser of the club.

Martins had put the shoe-get-size side ahead on 22 minutes, but Ibrahim Yayha from the spot 8 minutes later ensured the two sides went into the dressing room at half time with a goal a piece.

Martins got his second of the day which eventually became the winner on 58 minutes to end the score 2-1 at the Lafia City Stadium.

The win lifts Lobi Stars to 17th on the log with 9 points same as Bayelsa United who are 18th on the log based on goal difference.

In Ilorin, the reigning champions of the league, Rangers International were denied a win against Kwara United on Monday.

The Flying Antelopes who have remained winless in 3 matches before a game played out a 1-1 draw at the Kwara Sports Complex.

Shola Abdulraheem had put the home side ahead on 42 minutes before Kingsley Maduforo leveled the score for Rangers on 45 minutes.

Rangers International is 9th with 12 points while Kwara United is 12th with 11 points.
