The club in no time appoint Slovakia's head coach Francesco Calzona as his successor.

Mazzarri, who took over from Rudy Garcia in November, leaves the Italian champions languishing in ninth place in Serie A.

The club's decision to part ways with him comes amidst reports of underwhelming performances and results.

According to sources in Italy, Calzona has agreed to a contract until the end of the season with Napoli while continuing to lead Slovakia's national team.

Napoli's immediate focus now shifts to their upcoming UEFA Champions League encounter against Barcelona in the last-16 first-leg tie scheduled for Wednesday.

Calzona, who assumed the role of Slovakia's boss in August 2022, played a pivotal role in guiding the nation to qualification for this summer's European Championship in Germany.
