Osimhen Set for Full Return Ahead of Fenerbahçe Derby

Victor Osimhen is expected to be fully fit for Galatasaray’s crucial Super Lig clash against Fenerbahçe later this month, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Nigerian striker has been sidelined with an arm injury sustained during a UEFA Champions League encounter against Liverpool before the international break, but is now making steady progress in his recovery.

Osimhen, who underwent surgery, has resumed non-contact team training and is gradually being reintegrated into the squad, although he was not included in the matchday squad for the clash against Kocaelispor.

According to sources close to the player, including Nigerian OAP Buchi Laba, the 27-year-old is on course to return in time for the Istanbul derby scheduled for April 26. There is also a possibility he could feature earlier against Gençlerbirli?i, either in the league or in the Turkish Cup quarter-final.

Galatasaray also confirmed his progress in an official update, stating that Osimhen trained with the team during part of the session before continuing a specialised recovery programme under the supervision of physiotherapists.

With Galatasaray leading the Super Lig title race, his anticipated return is a major boost for the team ahead of the decisive run-in, particularly for the high-stakes derby against Fenerbahçe.

Osimhen, who joined the club on a permanent deal last summer, has enjoyed a strong campaign, scoring 12 league goals and adding seven more in European competitions.
