Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen delivered a standout performance on Sunday, reaching a major personal milestone as Galatasaray cruised to a commanding 4–0 victory over Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Nigerian striker scored his 200th career goal, made up of 165 goals at club level and 35 for the national team, and was deservedly named Man of the Match.
The league leaders took early control of the contest, opening the scoring in the seventh minute when Kayserispor defender Aaron Opoku turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a dangerous cross.
Osimhen doubled Galatasaray’s advantage in the 26th minute, calmly converting a penalty he won himself after being fouled in the box. His influence continued after the break, and in the 60th minute, he sparked a swift counterattack before providing the assist for Gabriel Sara, who finished clinically to make it 3–0.
Galatasaray later earned another spot-kick, which Mauro Icardi converted confidently to cap an emphatic victory. Osimhen featured for 82 minutes, producing an all-round display that included 88 percent pass accuracy, two chances created, seven shots on target, alongside his goal and assist.
The prolific striker has now registered 14 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this season, underlining his consistent impact in attack.
The win keeps Galatasaray top of the Super Lig table with 49 points, six clear of Fenerbahce, while Kayserispor remain 17th and continue their relegation battle. Galatasaray next face Istanbulspor in the Turkish Cup, as Kayserispor turn their attention to a clash against Kocaelispor.
