Osimhen ends goal drought with thunderous header against Monza

Nigeria's Victor Osimhen put a fine performance to help current league champions Napoli return to winning ways against Monza in the Italian Serie A on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles goal poacher recorded the first goal for Napoli as they defeated Monza 2-4 at the Stadio Brianteo in the matchday 31 encounter.

Milan Duric opened score the hosts on 9 minutes giving Monza the lead at the end of the first 45.

 

However,  Africa's footballer of the year and last season's league top scorer restored parity for Napoli after rising high to connect to Anguissa's cross with his head on 55 minute to score his 12th goal of the season.

Matteo Politano gave Napoli the lead 2 minutes later before Piotr Zieli?ski doubled the lead on 61 minute.

Andrea Colpani reduced the deficit a minute later, but Giacomo Raspadori restored Napoli's 2-goal lead on 69 minute.

With the win, Napoli are 7th with 48 points, 6 points better than 11th place Monza.
