Bafana Bafana head coach Shakes Mashaba has declared himself happy with his side's preparations for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

South Africa were in fine form on Wednesday as they saw off Mali 3-0, with Thulani Hlatshwayo, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Dean Furman scoring the goals in a clinical display at the Libreville Stadium.

And Mashaba was delighted with his side's performance ahead of their departure for Equatorial Guinea on Friday.

"We are happy with the preparations, especially in matches against Cameroon and Mali," the head coach said on SAFA's official website.

"We now know what we are going to face in Equatorial Guinea, and yes it is going to be tougher than this.

"But I would like to say to our boys, job well done. Mali had almost all their players from abroad which is clear indication that it was not an easy game."

Bafana are in Group C for the 2015 AFCON along with Algeria, Ghana and Senegal and kick off their tournament against the continent's top-ranked team, the Fennec Foxes on January 19.
