The Senegalese national team has missed two training sessions ahead of their first 2015 CAF Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

The Lions of Teranga were expected to leave Casablanca for Malabo at 9h00 on Thursday morning, however, they only took off at 16h00 to land in Equatorial Guinea in the middle of the night resulting in a whole day of training lost for the Senegalese.

However, according to the midfielder Pape Kouly Diop, all the games are crucial for the team as he was speaking to ‘Stades’ ahead of their continental campaign.

“Ghana, Algeria and South Africa are great teams, but we must not under-estimate the teams from the other groups,” said Diop.

“We know that the teams present at the Afcon had a good qualifying campaign, they are at the Afcon because they are good teams. It is going to be difficult for us like for the others.

“We need to take game after game and not believe that the first match is crucial - all the games are crucial.

“We mustn’t put too much pressure on ourselves. We need to be serene, humble and show a lot of ambition.”

The Alain Giresse-led side will open their account against the Black Stars of Ghana on Monday, January 19.
