Southampton manager, Russell Martin has addressed speculation surrounding Paul Onuachu's future at the club, revealing that a bid has been received but it falls short of the club's valuation, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Onuachu, who spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor, returned to Southampton for pre-season duty last week.
The 30-year-old Nigerian striker impressed during his time in Turkey, scoring 15 goals in 25 league appearances.
Trabzonspor are keen to sign Onuachu permanently, but Martin confirmed that their offer does not meet Southampton's expectations. "We've had one bid for Paul and it was nowhere near the valuation of the club," Martin told the DAILY ECHO.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Martin praised Onuachu's professionalism since returning to training.
"Paul's been great. He's trained really well and we've had a good chat. He's been really honest with me. I've been really honest with him."
Martin also clarified that Onuachu has not submitted a transfer request.
