Onuachu Committed to Trabzonspor Despite Transfer Interest, Says Club President

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has dismissed speculation surrounding the future of Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, insisting the forward has no intention of leaving the Turkish club this summer, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Onuachu has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Trabzonspor since completing a permanent transfer from Southampton FC last summer following a successful loan spell.

Recent reports suggested that clubs from Saudi Arabia were interested in signing the prolific striker, with Trabzonspor reportedly rejecting a substantial offer for the Super Eagles star.

Addressing the speculation, Dogan confirmed that the club turned down a lucrative bid and stressed that the player remains fully committed to the Black Sea Storm.

“There is an offer for Paul Onuachu, but he loves the club and does not intend to leave,” Dogan told Fanatik.

“An offer of close to €20 million came for Paul Onuachu; we did not accept.”

The statement will come as a major boost for Trabzonspor supporters, who witnessed the Nigerian enjoy an outstanding 2025/26 campaign.

The 32-year-old played a key role in the club’s third-place finish in the Turkish Süper Lig and finished the season as the league’s joint-top scorer alongside Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Basaksehir.

Onuachu also helped Trabzonspor secure silverware, scoring twice in the 2-1 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Cup final.

Having established himself as one of the most influential forwards in Turkish football, the Nigerian's continued presence is expected to be central to Trabzonspor's ambitions both domestically and in European competition next season.
