As first reported by Owngoalnigeria.com, on loan Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has confirmed that he will return to Arsenal in the summer when his loan deal expires with Portuguese side FC Porto, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Nwakali joined the club on loan from Arsenal in the summer with Porto inserting a clause which gives them the option to buy him permanently when his loan spell ex?pires in the summer.
However he has failed to nail a permanent spot in the B team who are campaigning in the second division, which means he didn’t progress to the first team as planned when he signed the loan deal.
He will now return to Arsenal in the summer where he expects a decision to be reached on his next loan destination as he is not yet eligible to play for Arsenal due to work permit issues.
” I will return to Arsenal in the summer and we will decide on the next step of my career. The idea is to join a club where I will get regular game time which is not the case at Porto B”, he told reporters at the camp of the Nigeria U23 where they are preparing for the return leg of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers game against Libya.
