Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh will spring some selection surprises in today’s CHAN clash against Tunisia, officials have said.
Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye hinted this during a television interview in the morning.
“The coaches have some surprises up their sleeves,” Ibitoye said.
Suspended defender Austin Obaroakpo is available for selection and it is left to be seen if he would be picked to start against Tunisia after Stephen Eze and Orji Kalu paired in central defence against Niger.
The coaches will also have to choose between Usman Mohammed and Bartholomew ‘Mosquito’ Ibenegbu who will start as the attacking midfielder in Oliseh's 4-2-3-1 formation.
‘Mosquito’ played 70 minutes before he was replaced by the younger Usman, who did a lot better linking up the defence with the attack when he came on.
But by far the biggest selection poser would be whether Nigeria will start hat-trick hero Chisom Chikatara ahead of Tunde Adeniji, who has been the preferred main striker of the team.
Kick-off time is 2pm at the Stade Regional in Kigali.
