Olisa Aniuno Slams NFF

Following the election of Ifeanyi Uba as the chairman of Anambra State FA after the recently concluded poll in the state, Olisa Aniuno, a chairmanship aspirant, has said that the current board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) cannot be trusted.

Aniuno slammed the NFF for organizing a ‘sham election’ in the state, which threw up Ubah as chairman in rather controversial circumstances.

According to Aniuno, the NFF had announced Wednesday May 4 for elections into the board of the Anambra State FA, but surprisingly, ‘elections’ held on May 3, 24 hours before the scheduled date, which has now prompted him to petition both the Glass House and the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung.

Consequently, Aniuno said the NFF can no longer be trusted given how it had conducted itself.

“I would not trust this NFF because it is still the same characters that orchestrated the sham that was called an election in Anambra State,” he told fcnaija.com.

“We know we can no longer trust what they (NFF) say, but if they follow the rules and don’t compromise, we should be able to get a good result,” he said.

“But what we are saying is that we have lost that trust, because we trusted them and I made such pronouncements that we had full confidence in the Ephraim Chukwuemeka committee, only for them to disappoint us,” he said.
