Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has expressed his openness to representing either Nigeria or England at the international level, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Born in England to Nigerian parents, the 22-year-old has previously played for England at youth level but remains eligible to play for Nigeria through his ancestry.

There has been speculation that Okonkwo could be invited to join the Super Eagles for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Despite this, he has yet to decide on his international future.

“I’m still really ambitious to play at the international level. I can still play for England or Nigeria, and I’ve not made a choice yet,” Okonkwo told The Mirror.

Okonkwo is expected to leave Arsenal this summer as a free agent when his contract expires.

Okonkwo spent this season on loan at Wrexham winning promotion and being voted League 2 Goalkeeper of the Year.
