Ojodu FC’s Hafiz Umar Ibrahim to sign for Chelsea

Ojodu FC’s Hafiz Umar Ibrahim has arrived in London and will be at Chelsea from Monday for two weeks before signing a contract with the Blues, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.

According to soccernet.ng, the youngster will be a Chelsea other things being equal in the coming weeks.

In February, Chelsea had Raheem Sterling jump on a video call with the young Nigerian striker to convince him of their interest.

He finally obtained his UK visa last week and boarded a flight for London where he will begin training with the squad on Monday.

It was reported earlier that Chelsea had invited Hafiz Umar Ibrahim to train with them with the potential to sign a long-term contract and would be loaned out to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg if the London liked him.

Hafiz who had traveled to Bodo/Glimt in Norway in order to sign previously, but opted for Chelsea after reports of Chelsea tabling a better offer than the Norwegian club.

Ibrahim was a sensation at the Viareggio Cup World Football tournament in Italy in February after emerging top scorer with 10 goals in 6 matches.
