Ogunmodede cautions against complacency

Remo Stars Coach Daniel Ogunmodede has urged his players not to get carried away at this time after their away win over Shooting Stars Sports Club, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Alex Oyowah scored through a header after the half-hour mark following a cross from Sodiq Ismail to give the Sky Blue Stars a home and away win over the Oluyole Warriors.

The win puts Remo Stars 7 points better than Rivers United, and two more wins with four matches to the end of the season will crown the Ikenne side champions of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League.

Nevertheless, Ogunmodede says it is not time to get carried away as they are not champions yet.

“We don’t need to relax on our oars. We are not getting carried away with congratulatory messages,” Ogunmodede said post-match.

“We quite understand that a champion will always emerge at the end. So we are going to fight till the end.”

Remo Stars play Niger Niger Tornadoes ok Sunday and will seek to consolidate on their top spot with the view to clinching the trophy.
