Victor Boniface has completed a season-long loan move to Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen, beating transfer deadline to seal the move, which does not include a permanent purchase option at the end of the loan spell, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Nigerian striker seals the move at the back of a controversial failed medical at AC Milan, with the Italian club deciding against his signature due to discrepancies in the medical results.

"We are pleased that we were able to complete the loan and secure Victor's services. He has shown outstanding performances in the Bundesliga and proven his qualities. We are convinced that he can continue that with us," explains Peter Niemeyer, SVW head of professional football.

"Victor is physically incredibly strong, has a very good finish, and good pace. He shone as a goal-scorer and assist provider in Bayer Leverkusen's championship-winning season. I'm sure he can become a key player in our group this season," head coach Horst Steffen also stated.

The attacker is also looking forward to the move to Osterdeich: "The discussions with those in charge convinced me to make the move to Werder Bremen. I want to contribute with my performances to help us achieve our common goals this season. I'm looking forward to my new team and my time at Werder Bremen."
