The Turkish Football Association has announced that Senol Gunes is no longer the coach of the national team. The separation therefore took place amicably. We would also like to thank the trainer for his services:
"We would like to thank our esteemed coach, Mr. Senol Günes, for his work during his tenure and for his contribution to Turkish football."
Most recently Turkey went 6-1 against the Netherlands. Subsequently, the criticism of Gunes grew louder. The 69-year-old has coached the national team in a total of 32 games since 2019.
