While having already got his deal with Lorient extended about a year ago, 28-year old French defensive midfielder Laurent Abergel had his ongoing contract with Les Merlus officially renewed again.
Playing for Breton side since 2019/20, Olympique de Marseille alumni agreed on a further 4-year deal. Recently inquired about by Anderlecht, Abergel, viable also as a central midfielder and as a right-back, used to play for a couple more clubs, namely AS Nancy-Lorraine and AC Ajaccio.
