LAFC confirmed on Wednesday that striker Diego Rossi has been loaned to Fenerbahce of Turkey.
Rossi's transfer to Europe has long been predicted, given his quick success as a youngster after joining LAFC ahead of their first season. He scored the first goal in Major League Soccer for LAFC, the first of his 48 goals in 104 regular-season games. In addition, he has 21 assists.
Rossi will break LAFC's transfer record if the move is made permanent. The transfer completes a proof of concept for the club's penchant for acquiring and nurturing youthful talent, which has been discussed for some time.
Fenerbahce is one of Turkey's most well-known clubs, having finished second in the league the previous season.
