Lukas Podolski has secured his “big dream” by signing for Polish Ekstraklasa side Gornik Zabrze.
Podolski, 36, recently stated his desire to play for the club based a few miles from his birthplace in Gliwice.
Despite being born in Poland, Podolski has never played for a Polish club and was capped 130 times by Germany, where his family emigrated when he was two.
Podolski spent the first decade of his career in the Bundesliga before representing Arsenal, Inter Milan (loan), Galatasaray, Vissel Kobe and most recently Antalyaspor.
Gornik Zabrze are 14-time Polish champions but have not won the title since 1987-88 and finished 10th of 16 teams last season.
